Montgomery man arrested for identity theft

Auburn, Ala. - On April 29, 2024, Auburn Police, with assistance from the Montgomery Police Department, arrested Dmitri Miguel German, age 19, from Montgomery, AL, on a felony warrant charging him with identity theft.

The arrest stems from Auburn Police receiving a report involving a fraudulent check on Nov. 15, 2023. Police met with a complainant who reported that a check made out to a business was mailed to the intended recipient from a location in Auburn. While in transit, the check was stolen, altered and deposited in a bank account associated with an unknown suspect.

Dmitri Miguel German was developed as a suspect, and after further investigation, an arrest warrant for identity theft was obtained. Walker was located by the Montgomery Police Department on April 29, 2024, and he was arrested in obedience to the warrant.

Walker was transported to the Auburn Police Department, and later transported to the Lee County Jail, held on a $5000 bond.

All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
